The Dannevirke meeting will take place on Wednesday next. A special train will run from Palmerston North on tho morning of the race's. Acceptances for the Manawatu meeting close on Tuesday next. A southern writer states that Amythas will not bo sent to Ellerslie for the Cup meeting. ** Mr. E. Riddiford’s high-priced Austral-ian-bred Wheatfield was noticed finishing very fast in his races at Woodville, but ho was slow to find his feet in each start. Tho racing will sharpen him up, and ho will do a lot better later on. A good contingent of Trentham-trained horses racedl at Woodville, but Doucemont was the only one to win. Kilrush and Opiate filled minor places. Tho Wellington towncr Air. H. W. Brown is at present on a trip to Rotorua. After seeing Password race at Woodville, Mr. W. Higgins went on to Auckland. He is returning to Palmerston North in time for the Cup meeting, and his team will then go on to Marton. Signorell.a was a runner in tho hack hurdle races nt Woodville, but ho finished a long way back. He is engaged in the big hurdle races at Ellerslie, but is not likely to make the trip. Princess Pat, who is now racing in the colours of the Wellington owner Mr. J. Fraser, ran two good races at Woodville, and her trainer should not have any difficulty in placing her where sho can win during tho holidays. The Trentham-trained but Blenheimowned three-year-old bay filly Doucement was amongst ihe winners at ‘Woodville on Thursday, when sho scored in tho Telegraph Handicap, and defeated a hot favourite in Chant Royalr Doucement, who acts well in soft going, had several times showed pace in her races of late, and her win wns fully expected by her trainer, C. Pritchard,' as she had finished on well in the Hack Flying; Handicap on Wednesday, after being badly checked at one stage of the race. The suspension of H. Goldfinch for three months will bo a severe punishment to the Auckland horseman, as it will mean that he must miss all the holiday meetings. Coalition is again located at Trentham, and will shortly commence work on the track. He is to be got ready for winter racing. Big Chief, Athens 11. Hula Boy, and Hula Girl were raced at Woodville this week, but none of them showed any form, so probably their trip to Ellerslie will not eventuate. Hula Boy is a good looking two-year-old, but ho is nothing like strung up. Snatcher, tho two-year-old full-brother to Anomaly, purchased some time back by a patron of J. Fryer’s Hawera stables, is to race at the Christmas meeting of the Taranaki Jockey Club. Two new aspirants for honours in hurdle races are Spook and Island. Both nre being regularly schooled at Trantham, and the first-named! in particular is shaping well. A Press Association message from Auckland states that Fulsome and Anomaly have both been rehandicap'pcd for the Railway Handicap. The former has been raised 61b., bringing her weight to Tst. 31b., while Anomaly will have to carry lib. extra, making his impost Bst. 61b. Fulsome has also been given an additional 61b. in the Flying Handicap at the Watoa meeting, making her weight Bst. 31b. The rohandicaps are tho result of victories at the Woodville meeting.
