TRAPPING RIGHTS
CLAIAI FOR OPOSSUAI SKINS.
AV. Cromb, farmer. Paraparaumu, for whom Air. G. AVatson appeared, proceeded in the Alagistrato’s Court yesterday, before Air. AV. G. Riddell, S.AL, a-’ai’nst E, Porter, Palmerston North, trapper, for whom Air. AV. E. Leicester appeared, to recover 40 opossum skins or their value, 12s. 6d. each. The plamtift was the owner of a farm at Paraparaurau. on which there were a large number of opossums. Ho granted tho defendant the trapping rights, and the defendant obtained a large number ot skins The plaintiff claimed that it Imd been agreed that he was to receive 40 of the best skins for himself as the consideration for granting tho defendant trapping rights. This was domed by the defendant, but after hearing the evidence Mr. Riddell gave judgment for plaintiff for the delivery of 40 skins or thoir V lue ' which was at Ils. ba. each 4
