SOLICITOR CHARGED WITH THEFT
♦ LARGE SUM INVOLVED. By Telegraph—Press Association. Auckland, November 29. In the Police Court to-day Arthur Cracknell, solicitor, was charged with having stolen .£3OOO, the money of Oliver Read. He was remanded for eight days. Bail was allowed in one surety of <£looo. Chief-Detective Alcllveney stated that it was likely that other similar charges would he preferred against accused. Bail was not immediately forthcoming.
