Among tho arrivals from England by the Tonic on Monday was Mr. Charles Stoddart, of Liverpool, tho well-known sportsman, who is on his fifteenth visit to Now Zealand. Air. Stoddart, who is n keen angle*’, intends to leave for Lake Taupo on Afonday next. Air. Frank Spelling, of the proprietary of the Glasgow “Daily Record and Alail,” arrived in AVellington by the Tonic on Monday.
Air. Frederick Coyle, deputy-inspector of general messenger services at Christchurch, lias been promoted to officer-in-chargo of the Government Buildings, at AVellington, and inspector of general messenger service ior the Dominion (states the “Lyttelton Times”).
Air. C. J. C. Griffiths, of Blenheim, who has been on a visit to tho Old Country, returned by the lonic on MonAlr. C. J. McCarthy, will leave for Australia by the Afanuka to-morrow. He will return to Now Zealand in the new year, after inspecting new freezing works and abattoirs
