(Rec. November 27, 5.5 p.m-) London, November 26. Ishar Singh, of the 28th Punjabis, has been awarded the Victoria Cross lor valour in Waziristan in April, 19-1. Ho was severely wounded in i-' ie chest and fell beside a Lewis gun. fighting commenced and all the ofc were either killed, or wounded and the gun was captured. Ishar Singh got up Ind with two others charged and recovflm river in a manner reminiscent of BBSs The official account states that h^ v c ° n _ duct inspired all who saw him.-Aus. N.Z.
