DIVORCE COURT

UNDEFENDED PETITIONS. His Honour Mr. Justice Sim presided over the Divorce Court on Saturday. Several decrees absolute were granted, and undefended suits were dealt with. Evidence was heard in the case in which Leo fernon Pahl asked i for a divorce from Lilian Pahl on the ground of desertion, but the granting of a decree nisi was adjourned. The petitioner stated that there were four children of the marriage, one of which had died. He alleged that the respondent had left him. in August, 1918. "Barely three years ago," commented His Honour, as- he adjourned the case for proof of when ths desertion took place. . . ■ Martin Christensen (Mr. Sievwright) alleged that his wife., Jennie Christensen, had committed adultery. There were four children of the marriage, and the petitioner .alleged that an illegitimate cjlild had been born on March 9, 1920. 'Petitioner’s eldest son gave evidence in support of the petition. Pending certain alterations to documents, the-mak-ing of a decree was adjourned. Attired in the uniform of the Salvation Army, Jennie Thomas asked, in the Divorce Court on Saturday, for dissolution of her marriage with John James Thomas. Petitioner stated that the parties had been married in 1901, and had lived together until 1912, when her husband left her. There were two children of the union. "He was not a man of temperate habits,” she said He had not paid her any maintenance for a considerable period. A decree nisi was granted by Mr. Justice Sim, who heard the case.
