PUNISHMENT FOR CRIME
FOUR PRISONERS SENTENCED.

At the Supreme Court, Henry James Hansen, for tol'gery and uttering iu connection with two libellous letters reflecting on the character of two Syrians, was sentenced to six months’ gaol.
George Cooper Jackson, for receiving butter stolon from tho Niagara, was sentenced to six months’ imprisonment. George Caffrey, for escaping from custody, was sentenced to twelve months’ in gaol. John Patrick Donovan, for indeesnt assault on a male, was given five years’ Imprisonment.
