ROWING
STAR CLUB RACES. The Star Boating Club rowed the finals of the Senior Fours and Junior Fours last evening. The weather conditions were ideal and some fine rowing was witnessed. '■ The Senior Fours between Wakelin and McGowan was a fine race. From an even start, both crews set off and settled down to a long, steady stroke. Off the Kiosk the ’boats were level. Nearing the Rotunda McGowan had a slight lead, which ho increased, to a length nt the Baths. Hero Wakelin sprinted and almost drew level, but failed to hold his position. McGowan drew away ngain and was over a length ahead at Clyde Quay. From there homo McGowan was not pushed, and eventually won by two lengths and a half. In the Junior Fours, Steward' met Hart. Both crews got a good start. Hart led by a canvas to past Clyde Quay, but Steward, 'rowing a, long, steady stroke, gradually wore him down anil gained the lead, eventually winning by one length and a half.
