LOCAL WOOL SALES
WELLINGTON OFFERINGS NEXT WEEK. . The chairman of the Wellington Wool, brokers’ As'orfalion (Mt. F. W. Carey) was asked by a Dominion reporter if he had anything to say concerning the report from tho Christchurch “Press” published in yesterday’s Dominion to the effect that the order of sales as already laid down was likely to be interfered with by reason of difficulty that had arisen between wool buyers and the bulks relative to hills of lading. Air. Carey said: "The Wellington sale was set down for Thursday next. November 17, and the offerin'- would consist of between 6000 and bales—in fact, the w'hole of the wool in brokers’ stores available for sale. The original,,.closing dates of the catalogue was Thursday, but this had been extended to to-day (Saturday). The necessary shipping space would be in port within prompt so bills of lading would be available for buyers, and therefore the difficulty mentioned had no bearing on this sale, which would be held as abovementioned, early in the season. Despite the broken weather the wool had come to hand fairly well, and the selections to be placed before buyers would be a good one. Tho reference to the remarkably good limits said to be in buyers’ hands now was good reading, and Wellington brokers would have much pleasure in giving the buyers an opportunity of demonstrating their quality. The catalogues on Thursday would be quite up to the average for the first eale of th 6 season. As regards the sale? at Christchurch on November 21 he did not think there would be any difficulty experienced there, as from inquiries made he understood shinping space would be available within prompt.
