ELECTORAL BOUNDARIES
COMMISSION’S REPORT NOT YET RECEIVED. The Leader of the Opposition (Mr. T. M. WilfoM) asked in the House of -Representatives if the report of the Southern Boundaries Commission had been received, and, if so, would the Prime Minister state what constituencies were to be dropped, and. how the boundaries were to be altered. Mr. 'Jlassey eaid he did not know that the commission had finished its work. He hardly .thought it had, but he had no official communication from the ■commission. Neither did‘lie know which district or districts were to be cut out. He had heard a rumour that only one electorate would be cut out in the South Island, and one added to the North Island. That, however, was mere hearsay. He did not communicate with the Boundary Commissioners mntil they submitted their report to the Government.
