An enormous demand for houses still continues in the United (States.. but (states a trade iournal) building “is restrained by the high cost of materials, in many cases unjustified, and by the insista-nce of labour in th© trades that the inflated war time wage schedules be adhered to. A free development of this demand would add materially in the return of better times.” One engineering works in tho Midlands is managed and staffed solely by women.
