AUSTRALIAN WHEAT
FEDERAL GOVERNMENT OPPOSED TO COMPULSORY POOL.
Melbourne, October 28. Mr. W. Al. Hughes lias announced that the Commonwealth Government is opposed to a compulsory pool, but for purposes of co-ordination in shipping- and selling abroad the Government will advance 3s. per bushel for wheat: for pools at railway sidings. —Press Assn. In the House of Representatives Mr. Charlton, for the Labour Party, urged, the Commonwealth Government to establish. compulsory wheat pools in all the States, and moved that the Commonwealth take stops to ensure a continuance of the w'ne-it pools, and enter into negotiations with the Stato Governments to this end.—Press Assn.
