DRAMATIC SCENE
IN UNITED STATES HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES A MEMBER CENSURED By Telegraph—Press Association— Copyright (Rec. Octolier 28, 9.35 p.m.) New York, October 27. The Washington correspondent of the New York "Times” states that a dramatic scene occurred in the House of Representatives when it by 203 votes to 113 rejected a resolution to expel Representative Blanton, but by 293 votes to nil adopted a resolution censuring him for placing obscene and indecent matters into the Congressional record in the official Hansard. Tho Speaker called Mr. Blanton before him and solemnly voiced tho censure. Mr. Blanton fainted, but recovered, and with tears in his eyes left the Chamber. The galleries were crowded. Mr. Blanton spoke for an hour and a half in his own defence, the audience sometimes hissing. He asserted that he would like to send copies of the censured matter to every man and woman in his State. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable A sen.
