SUICIDE
MAN - HANGS HIMSELF. By Telegraph.— Preus Aspoctatlon. , Dunedin, October 28. An inquest was hejd to-day at Port Chalmers concerning' the death of Thomas AtcCutcheon, 41 years of age, a railway surfaceman, who hanged' himself at Purakahui oil Wednesday evening. ? His widow said tnat deceased was moody and depressed, especially if he had a d'rink, and latterly he had a delusion that she had turned the children against him. On the day of his death he returned from Dunedin under the in- - fluenoe of liquor. A brother also deposed that d'eceased was always _ more or less depressed, probably as the result of an accident in childhood. A formal verdict of suicide by hanging wasre turned.
