Tho Sports Committee of the Wellington Caledonian .Society is at present rnakin<r extensive arrangements for the annual sports, to be held on the Basin Reserve on Boxing -Dav next. M ith a view to ensuring record entries, the pure money is being largely increased in practicallv all the major events. The 1 ipei* end Dancers’ Association of New Zea-, land has awarded five important championships, and valuable trophies will accompany the various sports prizes. It was announced at Jatt meeting that the Wellington Police Force had donated a handsome cup, to be won twice, for the piper”securing the most aggregate pointe, tlie winner each year to receive .a gold medal in addition. This, taken in conjunction with the trophies of the kind ftlteadv in tho society’s possession, should materially assist in the general success or the meeting. Mr. T. IV.
