BRITISH GOVERNMENT’S PROPOSALS. Londoi October 21. Dr. T. J. Macnamara, Minister of Labour, dealing in the House of Commons with his section of the Government's proposals, stated that forty-eight applications from twenty-eight local authorities. had already been received, while the circular of the Ministry of Agriculture sent out on Saturday, socking suggestions to assist the agricultural workers outside tho Insurance Act had produced five schemes. —Reuter.
