SAILORS’ FRIEND SOCIETY
The men-of-the.-sea enjoyed to the full the provision made, fo.r their comfort by the hostess. Miss Mary Anderson, at her concert on Tuesday at the Sailors’ Friend Society. The performers were:—Mrs. Tonge. Misses M. Anderson. Nation, and Messrs. C. Burridge. Field, Lloyd. Griffiths, Chanman. B. Smith. Mr. Bert Smith was at the piano. Mr. Moore answered questions of the men in connection with temperance matters; pledges followed. Light refreshments were handed round by the hostess and her helpers. The competition prizes came from Mesdames V. Jones and Anderson and Mi°s M. Anderson, and were won by the Romuera. the Tainui, and men in port. Thursday’s concert, as advertised will be in aid of the funds of the mission.
