The annual report of the New Zealand Cricket Council records with regret the death of Mr. Robert Spencer, of Christchurch, who has umpired in shield and test matches on many occasions. Mr. R. T. Bailey, inspector of awards, resumed duty in the Wellington district office of tho ’Department of Labour yesterday. Ho has been relieving at Hawke’s Bay. Dr. J. AV. Hall, until recently assistant medical officer at Dunedin Hospital, who lias been undertaking a special course of study in Great Britain, has graduated F.R.C.S. (Edinburgh). Dr. Hall intends to return to New Zealand nt an early dale. Air. AVilliam I. Clark has been appoinied to fill the vacancy on the AVellingfon Licensing Committee caused by Hie death of Mr. John Smith.
