It was slated at a meeting of the Shire Council that "Mr. Maxwell has been put ou the road staff.” Lieutenant Maxwell was not given his military title because, ho wished to be saved from the emba”rossmont of too much publicity. Imtwo years after his return Lieutenant Maxwell worked as a metropolitan pressman, but as his health continued bad he. accepted an offer to go to Young fo ■ n spell in the open air. ITo is studying local government, and his present job giving him an insight into the practical side.
