GOOD TEMPLARS
Anzac Lodge No. 25, 1.0.G.T., was held at the Rechabite ‘ Chambers, . Ghuznee Street, on Friday evening, there being a good attendance of members and visitors. C.T. Bro. J. Warren presided. One new candidate was proposed for admission. Tho committee elected to report were Sisters D. Larwood, M. llearfield, and G. Symington. Greetings were received from Bro. Thomas, of Trentham. It was decided to endeavour to make arrangements for a united Good Templars' outing on Labour Day. In connection with tho item on tho quarterly programme, juvenile night, it was decided to invite tho members and parents of tho Westward-110 Temple of Ngaio. Members were notified that an official return visit to the Star of Wellington would take place on October 13. A debate followed on the subject inch has the greater influence on the community, a Statesman or a Movie?" Bros. Trevithick and Montgomery stated the case for the statesman, and Sister Betts and Bro. Price for the picture movie. ’Several members spoke, and a very interesting and instructive discussion resulted. On a vote being taken the decision went to the defenders of the picture movie star of Wellington. Refreshments were handed round, and the usual votes of thanks were passed.
