KARAKA BAY BUS
STILL RUNNING. At last meeting of the City Council it was decided that the Karaka Bay bus service should be suspended, and that the council would bo prepared to subsidise a service if same were taken up as a private business venture. The Mayor (Mr. R. A. Wright, M.P.) stated yesterday that so far the City Council had received no offers or proposals to run a private service. He could not say when the bus would cease running; that would be a matter for the Tramway Committee to decide. In any case, the residents who were affected would receive ample notice as to the date when the service was to cease. Tn connection with the above proposal it is understood that the residents of the bays affectedI—Scorching, 1 —Scorching, Karaka, and Worser—intend to wait on the. Education Board to ascertain if if intends to make any provision for conveying the children In to the Seat oun» school when the present bus services cease.
