CAUSES CURIOUS POSITION IN NEW 'SOUTH WALES. Sydney, October 10. The death is announced of Captain W. Millard, member for Goulburn in the Legislative Assembly. A curious position has arisen, as the new law provides that tho successor be the next highest candidate of tho same parly. Captain Millard and Mr. A. C. F. James were the only National candidates last, elections, and since then Mr. James lias been appointed a Judge.—Press Assn.
