Tho Masterton branch of tho Teachers’ Institute has passed the following resolution:—"That this branch thanks the Wellington Education Board for having to all intents and purposes made tho grading list a promotion list, but Is of opinion that applications from outside this district should bo accepted only from teachers whoso boards reciprocate."
Mr. W. Judd, of tho firm of Judd and Russell, had a narrow escape from a serious accident on Saturday. Mr. Judd was oiling a concrete mixing machine used in connection with tho erection of a new gasometer at tho Mastorton gasworks, when his sleeve was caught In tho machine. Fortunately he only suffered a slight dislocation of the shoulder joint.
