The New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Paparoa arrived at Newport News on Saturday en route for Home. ULIMAROA FOR SYDNEY Tho Iluddart-Pnrker steamer Ulimaroa is to sail at noon to-day for Sydney. THE EAST COAST SERVICE. The Kaitoa left Wellington yesterday afternoon for Lyttelton and Dunedin. She leaves Dunedin at the end of this week for Lyttelton and Wellington, and is due on Tuesday. She is to leave lor Auckland tho same day. The Kanna is due on Monday from Auckland with general cargo and will sail tho same day for Lyttelton nnd Dunedin. RUAPEHU DUE SATURDAY Tho New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Ruapehu is to leave Tokomaru Bay on Friday for Wellington, and is due here on Saturday. JOAN CRAIG'S MOVEMENTS. Tho Joan Craig arrived yesterday from Wanganui with Sydney cargo for discharge. She is to sail for Greymouth on Friday to load for Sydney.
WRECKAGE SIGHTED. Tho Oorinthic. bound from Auckland to Wellington, wirelessed to the Marine Department yesterday that at 1.55 p.m. sna passed a quantity of wreckage, apparently large, on beam end. The wreckage is very dangerous to navigation ana was in latitude 37min 17sec., and in longitude 178dcg. 3E. OOR-INTHIC’S MOVEMENTS. The S.S. and A. liner Corinthic is duo at Lyttelton from Auckland to-day to load and discharge. She will then load at Timaru, discharge and load at Port Chaimors and load at Bluif She is due here to complete on October 16 apd will sail on October 20 for London, via Monto Video and Tcneriffe. ORARJ FOR'NEW ZEALAND The New Zealand Shipping Company’s liner Orari is to load at Montreal and New York for New Zealand and Australia. She is expected to leave Montreal on November 10. i SOMERSET AT LONDON. The New Zealand Shipping Company's liner Somerset, which sailed from Wellington on August 11, arrived at London on September 24. SHIPPING IN AUSTRALIA. A Press Association cable message from Melbourne states that despite the lack of yprgo from Australia to the United States, tho Yamishida. Risen Kaisha, or Japan, is inaugurating a cargo steamer service to Pacific coast ports and Australia., calling at New Zealand en route. A start will be made next month with the Yieimu Maru. and thereafter there will be monthly sailings. TAINUI OUTWARD BOUND. I The S.S and A. liner Tainui left Balboa on September 24 in continuation of her voyage from London. She is due at Wellington on October 15. MATATUA LEFT LONDON. The S.S and A. Company’s liner Matatua sailed from London on Saturday for Melbourne. Sydney, and Brisbane. She Is due at Melbourne on November 1. FROM UNITED KINGDOM. The Opawa is due to leave the United Kingdom for New Zealand on October 20. Tile Kaikoura is to leave the West Coast of England on November 5 for Auckland, Wellington, Lyttelton, and Port Chalmers. MESS-TABLE GOSSIP. Captain J. M'Lean. late of the Kaitoke, has taken over command of the Mararoa from Captain B. Irwin, who has transferred to the Maori. Captain D. Cameron, of the Maori, has gone south to take command of -the Wahino Mr. R. S. Rutherford lias joined the Karamu as third engineer, vice Mr. R. Roberts The Waimea is due on Friday from Wanganui, and is to sail the same day for Nelson, Westport, and Greymoutli. The Storm is due on Thursday from Lyttelton and will sail the following day for Wanganui She is due back on Sunday to sail the next day for Lyttelton, Timaru. and Dunedin. The Opun is not duo until to-morrow from Lyttelton, and is to sail in the even-. ing for Grcymouth. ' The Komata is due to-day from Westport. and is expected to sail about Friday for Westport on the return trip. The Kini is due on Saturday from Auckland to bunker before going to Pioton to load produce for Onchjinga. The Dorset is to leave Gisborne for Auckland to-day.
