Levin and Co report:—At Rongotea on Wednesday wo had a fair entry, which consisted chiefly of dairy heifers close to profit. There was. a good inquiry; however, vendors had to lower their reserves considerably before business could be done. At Feildlng, on Friday, a small yarding of both sheep and cattle came forward. Fat sheep were in short supply, and prices all round showed an advance of from Is. 6d. to 2s per head. Hoggets were in good demand, and advanced fully Is. per head on last week’s rates. There was a good entry of dairy stock, which met with fair competition, though prices all round were slightly easier than recent sales. Fat cattle met with good competition, and fully maintained last week’s rates. Store cattle were dull of sale, and prices low.
