Representatives of the Actors' Federation, the Theatrical Employees’,' the Musicians’ Union, the Scenic Artiste, and the Billposters’ Association met in Melbourne, and agreed to a motion affirming the principle of forming an alliance between the five organisations, to. be called the Theatrical Alliance of Victoria. A committee of five was appointed to draw up rules for the proposed alliance, and submit them to a further meeting of delegates. Branches of the sama unions have already formed alliances in New South Wales and Tasmania. The members of the Manawatu Savage Club brought their year to a close on Saturday with a "Po Mo Nga Wahine,” at which there was an attendance of over two hundred, fully half being ladies. A very pleasant evening was spent, and an excellent programme was presented. , ,
