EIGHTH CONFERENCE. At a meeting of the Executive Committee of the Harbours Association of New Zealand held on September 10 it was decided to hold the eighth conference on October 19. In addition to other questions jfor consideration, the iniportant subject of waterside control and labour conditions will 'be introduced by the executive recommending the conference to reaffirm the resolution of the seventh conference (July, 1918) reading: "To approach the Government with a reauest that the Harbours Act be amended in such a manner as to empower harbour boards to employ, control, and manage all labour required in the loading and Unloading of ships and for waterside work generally, whether on wharves or on vessels.”
