COMMITTEE MEETING. —' From Oiir Own Correspondent.' Carterton, September 26. Tho monthly meeting of the Wairwrapa P. and A. Society was held at Carterton on Saturday, Mr. G. E. Allen presiding. The treasurer-reported a debit balance of zC4090 12s. 7d.; receipts since last* meeting, Jll3O 12s. 3d. Accounts amounting to z£236 3s. were passed for payment. The Council of Agriculture wrote regarding the society’s complaint that the judges’ list required revision, and the Feilding, Dannevirke, and Poverty Bay Associations wrote supporting the objection's.
Tho bunks and responsible authorities in the various IVairarapa towns,wrote agreeing to proclaim a holiday on tho People’s Day of the show. , The Railway Department wrote in reference to special stock trains for tho convenience of exhibitors, and the secretary’s action in respect to'a guarantee for- ono stock train was endorsed. Fourteen new members xvere elected, including three juniors, and three resignations wore accepted. The tender <?f Mr. F. Smith was accepted for grazing on tho show grounds.
It . was decided that tho gate charge remain at Is., afternoon tea. Is. 6d., and smoke concert tickets wore increased to sh. It. was decided to purchase 20 feet of land fronting Broadway, at a cost of JMO to give access to the grounds from Broadway, wjiere it is proposed to park
