On Saturday evening the Masterton Post Office staff held a progressive euchre tourniiineiit and dance in honour of Mr. S Cumming (postmaster), who is to retire at tho end of the present month, after 491 years’ service with the Department. Mr James Kerr (chief clerk-) presided. Among those present was Mr. G. R. Sykes, M.P. At appropriate interval during evening Mr. Cumming was presented with a rug and solid leather suitcase, also a silver-mounted oak cheese dish for Mrs. Cumming.
