4 The Otago and Wellington clubs have come to an agreement about tho six unfinished games of their recent telegraphic match, and a reference to Hie New Zealand Adjudication Board will therefore not ba necessary. The games at boards 2,3, 6, and 11 are dJaws; that at board 12 is a win for Mr. Brooker (AV.); and that at board 13 is a win for Mr. Fulton (O.). The fixture at board 14—Bot« ting (O.) V. L. Sim (AV.)—was played over the board here two days after Mr. Bolting arrived from the south. A fourhours’ struggle ended in a draw at move 77, the Otago player having king and bishop against the AVellingtonian’s-king at tho finish. The full score of the match is therefore as follows: —

AUCKLAND V. WELLINGTON. . ' The annual twenty-a-sid«Q match between the Auckland aind Wellington clubs is scheduled to commence at 5.45 p.in. on Saturday next. Considerable interest is ijeiug taken in this clash with 'the strong Northern club. Last year’s match '’ended in a narrow victory for the local players, but it must be remembered that the Aucklanders, werelunder a twofold*handicap <5 wing/to the Then prevailing shortage of coal. Tjje ab?en*e of a tram sendee in the north prevented the Auckland Club from getting it's strongest team iin the firingline, and those who did take part ‘’were under a disadvantage inshaving to play by candle light. The Auckland team.on this occasion will bo stronger than that which recently drew with Otago. — WELLINGTON feoUTH V. z WORKING MEN’S CLUB. - The- sixteenth annual match between the above clubs was played at- the Newtown Public Library on Thursday evening. In the regretted absence of ATr. W.. Berry (presidents and Mr. J. E. Bound (hon. secretary) a cordial welcome \tyiS/extended to the Working Men's Club team by Air. H. E. Ashby. At the conclusion of a very enjoyablq contest Mr. F. K. Kelling (in the absence of Air. Barnes, who was on the sick list) returned thanks for the hospitality extended to the visitor?. The Working Men's Club lias won on nine occasions—in 1905, 1910, 1913, 1914; 1915, 1917, 1918, 1919, 'and 1921. The Newtown players have been successful eix times—in 1906, 1908, 1911, 1912, 1916, and 1920. The 1907 fixture ended in a tie. No match was played in 1909.
