BOY CYCLIST INJURED

Late on Saturday afternoon two boy cyclists collided while riding along the Oriental Bay Parade. , At tho • same moment a motor-car camo round a corner and rnn into both of them. One of the boys, Joseph Rodgers, was injured, while the other lad was unhurt. Rodgers, who is nine years of age an<| resides at Jacobs Place, was .conveyed to the Hospital, where it was ascertained that he had sustained slight injuries to his head. Late last night the boy was reported to be progressing favourably.

Rudolph Noffke. aged 69, of Halcombe, was found dead this morning lying in n creek by tho roadside. He was last eeen alive last evening. Apparently tho deceased fell into the creek. SOLDIER’S DEATH. Rotorua, September 24. Private C. Simpson was found dead in bed at tho King' George Hospital this morning. Ho was a widower, about 50 years of age, and belonged to Auckland. He wag not a cot case, and was about yesterday.
