Tho "Daily Express’s" Romo coiTespntndont says it is customary to bury tho dead in the Roman district in brick vaults belonging to tho . municipality. Owing io tho building ctAis there is now a serious shortage of vaults, and onsiness has sprung up to provide so-called boardinghouses for tho dead. Speculators secure rights to use largo existing OTO 8 capable of holding fifteen to twenty bodies. Hearing of a death, they bargain with tho relatives, offering a place in the tomb for £3O to £4O.
