Mr. Winston, Churchill, replying to a deputation at Dundee, said' that since the armistice the Government hnd spent 105 millions on unemployment'relief. Tho Government recognised that special assistance must be given in particular cities and areas .where unemploy/nent was exceptionally acute. He had every reason to believe that that would bo tho Government’s decision. The Government felt that the problem would be better solved by an insurants scheme than by paying parish relief.—Aus.-N.Z.
