Low prices have ruled for several lines of vegetables nt thu Auckland wholesale markets during the Wet few days (states the "Herald” of Wednesday), old potatoes, cabbages, and cauliflowers being exceptionally cheap. On Tuesday, old potatoes sold at from 9s. to IDs. a sock. On Monday cabbages and cauliflowers made from la- 6d. to 4.5, a sack,' and on Tuesday hundreds of dozens wore sold «t from Is. to 3s. a dozen. There is a heavy supply of -these vegetables, due partly io the mildness of the season, which has resulted in good crops, and partly to the fact that greeter quantities have been grown this year. There ia also a glut in lettuces, which sold on Thursday at Is. to Is. Rd. a case of four dozen. The first consignment of green peas was sold last Friday realising up to Is. Bd. per lb. This week tho price was about I,s. 2d. per lb. Now potato*.*, which are in short supply, sold at from 3d. to 6d. per lb. Other vegetables are in good domain], and the prices about normal.
