CENSURE MOTION DEFEATED j A PECULIAR INCIDENT/ By Telegranh—Press Aerostation—OonrrteM Sydnsy, September 23. ' In tho Legislative Assembly the censure motion was defeated by 42 votes to 40. Mr. Gardiner (Independent LaBciir) voted with the Government. There was a peculiar incident when tlio division was being taken on a gag motion. A Labour member (Mr. O’Halloran) arrived late, and crawled under the bat* of the House, provoking the resentment of the Opposition. Sir George Fuller (Leader of the Opposition) threatened to cancel his pair with the Premier (Mr. Storey), who is ill. Each party then numbered forty. The Speaker ultimately .solved tho difficulty by ordering a fresh division, the Goverrment meanwhile gathering two more supporters.—Press Assn.
