NORTHLAND PROGRESSIVE ASSOCIATION o ANNUAL Tho annual meeting of the Northland Progressive Association was held last evening. The president, Mr. F. W. Manton, was in the chair, and in a short address referred to the progress made during the year and the necessity for keeping the association alive in the future. Ho specially mentioned what had been accomplished with regard to recreation grounds for the children, and referred to the pressing need for providing proper access to Wilton’s Bush at the Karori and Northland end. Officers for tho ensuing year were elected as follow:—President, Mr. F. W. Manton; vice-presidents, Messrs. L. L. Lambert and F. D. Mabin; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr. J. A. M'Queen; committee, Messrs. Austin, Grant’ O’Connor, Putnam, Salt, Stott, White, Boyes, Burd, Mulligan Gapes, James, Franklin, and Captain M li™«>During the evening the sum of *£3 9s. was realised ih the room in aid of the Plunkef appeal, and arrangements were made to form a committee in Northland to support the campaign in aid of the appeal, the objeots of which were outlined bv Dr. Thuby King, Director ot Child Welfare.
