Palmerston North, September 14. The ladies' hockey tournament was continued to-day, with the following results:— , . , Hawke's Bay A beat Taranaki by 2 goals to 1. Wairarapa anti Wanganui played a dfrawn game. Neither side scored. Poverty Bay beat Manawatu A by 3 to 1. Feilding. a bye. Otago (6) beat Nelson (1). Wellington 710) beat Manawatu B (nil). Auckland beat Marlborough by 1 to nil. 1

Hawlra's Bay 8,, a Bye. The Hawke’s Bay-Taranaki game was particularly keen, and rallies by both sides created great excitement among the larce crowd of spectators. Taranaki's only goal was scored by Miss Ward from an opening made .by Miss Knapman. Misses Mayo and Lean scored for the winners. AVial.rar.apa was the superior e.oven against Wanganui, but the splendid defensive tactics of one or two individuals frustrated the scoring efforts of Wairariipa, in which Miss Cadwallader was frequently prominent. • t The Poverty Bay-Manawatu A match was the best of the tournament so far. Miss F. Hill scored for Poverty Bay in the first spell. Ini the second spell.' Mnnawntn made sustained attempts, and after a prolonged battle in the circle Miss Pitt shot a nice goa.L Poverty Bay broke away again, and l Miss Hill scored brilliantly. The Otago-Nelson match was mediocre, the losoifs lining quite outclassed. The same remark applies to the Wel-llngton-Manawalu .B match. The undor-ra.tcd Marlborough team gave Auckland a keen, close match. They were in the ascendant during parts of the game. Miss Bntland, by shooting a clever goal early in the second spell, pulled the game out of the fire.
