CANADIAN IMPORTER
TOWED INTO VICTORIA. (Rec. September 14, 8.30 p.m.) Vancouver, September 13. The Canadian Importer has been towed into Victoria. —Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assii. [The Canadian Importer was abandoned by her crew, off the Washington coast, as she was believed to be sinking, he# seams having opened. She had a cargo of timber on board, however, and this kept her from foundering, and some of tho crew returned to her, hoping to get the vessel towed to Vancouver. The steamer Cordova stood by her for some time, but evenutally resumed her voyage, further assistance .being declined by the Canadian Importer’s captain, who expected tho Canadian Winner to roach him the next dav. The waterlogged vessel was then lost Sight of for some days, and the keenest anxiety was felt for her safety and that of the men on board. The missing steamer wit's found Ty the Canadian Observer a hundred miles from the position whe.re the Cordova had left her.]
