Auckland, September 14.

A drop of one penny per pound in the retail price of butter was announced following a meeting of the Auckland Provincial Butter Committee. Tho meeting carried a resolution to the effect that owing to tho drop in the Homo market it be a recommendation from the committee that the wholesale price of first grade butter be 2s. per lb. in bulk at the factory door, and 2s. Id. for pate at the factory door (plus jd. for delivery at Auckland), in order to make the maximum retail price 2s. 4d. per lb.
