AUSTRALASIAN TEAM IN AMERICA (Rec. September 9, 8.15 p.m.) Washington, September 8. A telegram from Philadelphia states that the Australasians are resting there on the eve of the national singles championships. They have actively participated since their arrival in the United States in a largo number of strenuous exhibition and official matches, as well as a long round of social engagements. All are feeling fit. Hawkes is recover- . ing from an attack of mild ptomaine poisoning, and it expected that he will be able to participate m the cham-pionships.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
