ANNUAL MEETING NEW ZEALAND academy. The annual meeting of tho New Zealand Academy of Fine Art, was hold last evening. ,The preside nt Mr. Shailer Weston, was in the chair. In moving the adoption of the annual and balance-sheet tho prtsident said that tho progress ot the society had continued during tho year. lhe membership had increased and the exhibitions had, on th* whole, been more successful than in previous years. Another gratifying feature was the increased interest being taken in the, academy by the general pnhhc, nnd the generosity of patrons which had a tendanev to find expression in the form .of bequests te the society. Concluding. Mr Weston made feeling reference to the death of Mr. J. G. W. Aitken. Officers for the ensuing year were elected os follow President Mr. I. Shailer Weston; vice-presidents, Messrs. E W. Hunt nnd J. Ellis; council, Messrs. Nugent Welch, Charles Wilson. W Gray Young, J. F. Munnings, nnd Miss D. K. Richmond; treasurer, Mr. H. E. Anderson; auditor, Mr. C. D. Morpeth.
