WELLINGTON FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION

The weekly meeting of the Wellington Football Association was hold last evening at the Y.M.C.A. Present: Mr. WAuld (chairman), Messrs. A, 'Williams (hon. secretary), P. Banks, H. Yeoman, H. Ilevorsage, R. Hendry, L. White, A. E Wells. W. Dunean, C. Webster, 11. L. Godbar (C. F. Ward, delegate).

Mr. C. F. Ward, referee in tho junior cup tie, Thorndon v. Gas Company, reported a player of the latter team for kicking an opponent. After much evidence had been taken, it was decided to suspend the player for one playing Saturday, in view of tho provocation received.

Mr. D Stirratt was appoint manager of tho Third Division team which 4s to play at Palmerston North on Saturday. Tho Aotea Ladies’ Club asked that a club mutch bo played as a curtain-raiser to tho Brown Shield match v Auckland. It was decided to thank the ladies for their offer, but arrangements had already been made for the curtain-raiser, Institute A playing Marist iiv the final for the Third Division championship. I’ho Aotea Ladies’ Club also wrote offer* Jug their services for tho forthcoming bazaar on behalf of the Wellington Football Association. The Auckland , Football Association wrote stating they were not in favour of a Wellington referee, and suggested a referee from’ Otago for the Brown Shield match on September 3- It "’as decided to ask the N.Z. Council to appoint a referee with the least possible axpenso for all concerned. It w’as decided to award the protest -f Marist (N.) v. Miramar Rangers to Marist, on account of the Rangers playing a boy over age. It was decided to replay tho Hospital r. Porirua Cup match at the Hospital ground on Saturday next. Mr. E. Windley to referee. Mr. Stirratt, referee, reported ordering off a player of Institute B for obscene language. Tho matter was held ever till next meeting for evidence. It was decided to accept challenges from Canterbury fourth and fifth class teams to pl ax Wellington on September 10 The following will represent Welhngton Fourth Division :—Donaldson (Y.M.C.A.), goal; Gill (Institute), D. Price (Y.M.C. A.), backs; half-bndks, I. Burke (Marinti', Dixon (Institute), Barton (Marist); forwards. Nicolle (Institute). Dempster (Institute), Orr (Y.M.C.A.), Russell (Karori), Stark (Y.M.C.A.).
