LOW PRICE OF STEEL
CAUSES REDUCTION IN WAGES. (Rec. August 21, 5.5 p.m.) New York, August 19. The United States Steel Corporation bos announced a further reduction of wages for day labourers in the steel industry, which will became effective on August 29. Tho reason is the prevailing low selling price of steel, compared/with the cost of production.—Aus.-N.Z. Cable Assn.
