HOCKEY TOURNAMENT
COMMENCED AT TIMARU. By Telegraph—Press Association. Tlmaru, August 19. A hockey tournament commenced here to-day with two teams each from South Canterbury, Christchurch, and Otago. The weather was dull and the ground fast. South Canterbury A.nnd Otago A tied (2—2), and in extra time the former won. Christchurch A. beat Otago B (1—0). In the closing minutes Christchurch B beat South Canterbury B very easily (8 —0). ’flu* first anti second games were very strenuous. The tournament continues to-day.
