The, long-delayed improvements to the Treuthaiu appointments are to be commenced on September 1. Tira initial, work will consist of erecting the new stand for Leger patrons, and it is expected that this will lie in readiness for lira October meeting. After this the erection of the new inside stand and a .members’ stand, will be proceeded with, and it is hoped that patrons of the Cup meeting will be able to occupy ths new buildings. The club’s architect, Mr,' ju. S. Luttrell, is at present in Australia purchasing material for the undertaking. In all, about 175 men will be employed on the works. Kyoto is being regularly schooled over hurdles at Trentham, and is reported to be jumping well. Caretaker J. . Scott has recently converted the schooling track at Trentham into a grass gallop for two-year-olds, and the innovation is greatly appreciated by owners. Trainer A. M'Aulay has decided that it is not worth while persevering further with the Tetrarch horse Tractor, and he will probably b- returned to his owner, Mr. J. B. Reid. The sum of was given for the lease of Tractor by’ Mr. H. AV. Brown. Dr. A. K. Newinan has decided that Halifax is to fulfil his engagement in the Avondale Cup.
