ASSOCIATION FOOTBALL
The weekly meeting of the AVellington Football Association was held in tho Y AI.C.A. last night. Mr. AV. Duncan was in the chair. The following members were present Messrs. Banks. A. Wells, L. AVhite, H. Godber, C. AVebster, Hendry, 11. Yeoman, AV. Auld, and A. AVilliams, hou. secretary. The protest of tho AVaterside Club in the match v. Marist, owing to short tini» being played, was dismissed. It was decided to inform the Nelson Association that it was impossible to send further teams to Nslson this fsoaS °The New Zealand Council asked for a suitable date in AVellington for the North Island v. South- Island match. 1. was decided to- advise tho council that it was impossible for tho game to tie played in AVellington this season. It was decided to inform the AVelling'ton Gas Company Club that the anyeal of the Thorndon Club had been upueld by the 1 New Zealand Council, and the match, therefore, remains a win for Thorndon. The New Zealand Council notified that New South AVales and Queensland Associations had decided to send a repiosentativo team to New Zealand next season providing sufficient guarjintees were forthcoming, th? cost approximately being £l4OO. , It was decided to ask the New Zealand Council to meet a deputation ol' tbo local body to discuss matters arising from the proposed visit of the Australian team. Messrs. AV. Auld. L. A\ lute, and A. E. AVells were appointed to represent fourth and fifth divisions asked for matches against AVellington this season. The matters were referred to the Boys’ Sub-committee. It was decided to play Institute x. I’orii'tia, fourth B division, in town on Saturday next at 1.45 p.m. Palmerston NoTcii Football C.ub accepted August 27 as the dale tor the third division match at Palmerston North v. AVellington-. The local team to be selected on Saturday by Messrs. Yeoman, Ching, and Stirratt.

The following schools’ representative team left AVellington last night ten Journey to Otago to play the Canterbury and Otm'o school representatives:—Goal, Cocker (I’orirua); backs, O’Halloran (Marist, T.), Bogunffiv (Soutn Wellington); halves, Harris (Wadestown), Herlihy (Porirua), Reid (Marist I.); forwards, iritonnel’l (Mawst, 1.), Horsfall (W-irser Dav), Hutchings (Worser Bay), Harding (Marist, T.), Ching (Seatoun): reserves, Fitzgerald (Marist, N.) and Raines (Hataltai). This team is identical with the one which recently played the Manawatn schools, winning by 1 gcwls to nil. Ih only two players who played n i 19-0 against Canterbury and Otago are O Hal loran and Ching. The games at .l! r^, ent arranged are for Otago to play Canteiburt on Friday, Wellington to play Otngo on Saturday, and Wellington to nlav Canterbury on Monday. , . 1 Mr. Kirk, of the Hatailai School, is manager of the team.
