FALSE TELEGRAM SENT
By Telegraph—Press Association. Christchurch, August 17. John Daniels, jyhq was convicted at Westport of sending a false telegram, was brought up for sentence at the Supreme Court this morning. Mr. Justice Herdman said that tho ease, was not one for leniency, as. it was clear i.'.at prisoner bad mads'upMs mind to live the life of a criminal. He was sentenced to two years’ hard labour.
