PROGRESS OF THE NEGOTIATIONS. The negotiations between the representatives of the Government and the remaining Native owners of interests in the Urewera lands continue to make very satisfactory" progress, and there seems to be every reason io believe that complete agreement will be reached. A good deal of discussion has to take place before tho negotiations reach finality, however, and tho officers who are handling .tho matter may not bo able to make their complete report for some time yet. They have finished their conference with the Maoris in tho northern portion of tho Urewera, and are at present engaged on tho Rotorua side.
