THIRD TRIAL ORDERED
JURY AGAIN DISAGREE IN MEARNS CASE. For the second time a jury lias disagreed in the case of Hendry Moarns (Air. A. B. Sievwright), who was charged with the theft of butter worth X 5 from the Wellington wharves. The retrial was concluded yesterday beforw His Honour Mr. Justice Reed and a jury of twelve in the Supreme Court. After a retirement of over four hours and a half the jury returned and announced its inability to agree. Mr. P. S. K. Macassey, Crown prosecutor, asked lor a third trial. His Honour granted the application. The third trial will probably take place in October next, at the i ext criminal sessions.
