SUGGESTED REVISION OF SPRINGBOKS’ TOUR Advice was received at last night’s meeting of tho Wellington Rugby Union from the New Zealand Union that the following rearrangement of tho South Africans’ tour would lie submitted to Mr. Bennett, manager of the Springboks, for consideration:— August 27, v. New Zealand, at Auckland. August 31, v. Waikato, at Hamilton. September 3. v. Hawke’s .Bay and Poverty Bay, at Napier. September 7, v. Maori representatives, at Napier. September 10, v. In response to a. request from Mr. .1. H.. Lynskey, of Ekctahuna, it was decided to arrange a “curtain-raiser" on the Athletic Park on September 3 between teams of schoolboys representing Ekctahuna and Petone.

The Southland Rugby , Union wrote confirming September 10 as the date of the interprovincial match, Wellington v. Southland, to bo played at 'Wellington. Confirmation of other matches was received as follows:—Wellington v. Auckland, at Auckland. September 3; Wellington v. Wanganui, at Wanganui, on August 24. Intimation was received from the Manawatu Union that it would receive a visit from a Wellington third-grade representative team to play Manawatu juniors at Palmerston North on August 27. It was resolved to instruct the third grade committee to select a team and to recommend a manager. On account of the recent revision in the Springboks’ tour, it was decided that ft was impossible to play the suggested match against South Auckland at Hamilton during the A team’s northern tour.

An application by tho junior grade committee for the issue of caps to junior representatives was not entertained. The Marlborough Union intimated that it would send a team to play "Wellington on August 27. It was decided to request the selectors to select the northern touring team this evening. Mr. E. Perry was appointed manager of the team. It was decided to play another round of the third grade competition on Saturday. The fourth grade final will he played the same day. Tho fifth grade championship was declared closed, and tho championship awarded to Petone. The sixth grade -championship was awarded to Wellington College, and the seventh grade to Poneke A. SCHOOL REPRESENTATIVES The schools’ team to play tins afternoon in the match with a team from Scots College is as follows: —Full-back, Barrett; three-quarters, Nichol), Turlev, Richards; five-eighths, Cookson, Mahoney: half, Cleland; forwards, M’Leod, Teal, Best, Fordham, Callaghan, Waitai, Levien; wing-forward, Harris; emergencies, Cave, Lambourne. These am the only boys of the twenty selected to go te Wanganui who will he needed for this game, which is to sta«t at 3 p.m. Should the Kilbirnie ground be too wet, the game will be played at the Lyall ■Bay ground, provided that the weather conditions are favourable
